Following on from the success of the supply and installation of fitted furniture to Kings Court in Holt for Kingsley Healthcare Group last year, we have had the privilege of producing fitted furniture for Kinglsey’s most recent luxury care home in Olney, Olney Meadows.
Working closely with David and Jacqui from HomeSmiths Ltd over the last 12 months we worked through the various schemes until the final scheme was approved and signed off by the client.
I made my site visit in August where I obtained various necessary information such as site sizes and access details. This also gave me an opportunity to meet with the main contractor and discuss logistics.
As part of our contract, we were tasked with producing the following bespoke fitted joinery:
- Reception Desk
- Café Servery
- Reception Partition Screen
- Reception Bookcase
- Nurse Bases to all three floors
- TV Bookcases to all three floors
- Library Bookcases
- Salon Furniture
- Magazine shelves
We relish the opportunity to work with HomeSmiths Ltd as David being an award winning cabinetmaker himself designs a fabulous variety of furniture which we thoroughly enjoy producing.
A highlight of this project was the furniture which went into the Reception area, with a Scandinavian feel highlighted with solid lighter timbers like maple for the fronts of the servery and make up of the partition screen. The timber was complimented by a stunning Egger Fjord Green, the combination of the two colours worked really well.
As part of the servery and reception a Meganite solid surface top was used, a white veined marble effect colour which added to the Scandinavian aesthetic.
