2024 was another eventful year, we came back from our hard earned Christmas break to final preparations for the install of the fitted Furniture for Kings Court in Holt, the luxury care home for Kingsley Healthcare. The whole team travelled almost as far east as you can go in the UK to deliver the furniture. A team of 5 was left behind to carry out the install. Staying overnight we blitzed through the building fitting the various items, we also discovered that Lee is a master at pool! (there wasn’t much else to do in the evenings.)

We are very proud of being involved in this project, but this was only the beginning!
After the rush of January things slowed down a little, we had some nice jobs in the way of Telford Fire Station, George Eliot Captain Tom Moore Ward and Kenilworth Close Care home to keep things interesting but nothing huge, I suspected it was a budget thing, and I was right, as soon as April hit the flood gates opened!
George Eliot Hospital kept us very busy with the refurb of Melly, Nason, Victoria and Alexandra Ward. All received brand new large nurse base counters! All in a striking turquoise blue with white tops, a massive improvement in aesthetics and functionality!
Then came the big ones! Olney Meadows and Willows! In 2023 I stressed and worried about being able to meet the deadlines of Holt, now there was two of them, each of them was slightly smaller than Holt BUT they would both be going around the same time….. AND we would be building nurse bases for George Eliot, to say we would be stretched was an understatement! However, the way the guys handled the end of 2023 gave me confidence we could achieve anything!
BUT to add a touch of drama to the situation summer arrived and holidays were taken, also throw in a broken ankle and the departure of Charlie for pastures new. A very difficult time in the little noggin of mine!
We were not only short on time and labour but on space, how we managed to store everything and still work I’ll never know, due to some delays we ended up storing a great deal of furniture. Remind yourself of just how full we were here: https://jfw-cabinet.com/dodging-bullets-getting-it-all-done-when-the-world-keeps-throwing-obstacles-at-you/
Thanks to all the hard work by the lads we achieved our deadlines and help to deliver two top quality care homes!!

We also carried on with our shop fit’s for Ben’s Cookies, following on from Brunswick we carried out a complete fit of Goodge Street which is a new store for the wonderful cookie shop! At the tail end of the year the guys were hard at work getting everything ready for the refurbishment of Bath and Oxford stores which are happening as you read this!
Along with all these jobs we focused a lot of effort and resource on re investing in the company, We had a new roof on the workshop, which has been on my list of wants/needs for many years, we also purchased a new air compressor, which was also on the aforementioned list. This enabled us to run multiple air tools and machines without the fear of overload.
We also painted the exterior of the workshop and had new signage, now we are the gem of our estate! (not going to apologise for that comment!)
Along with the development of the business, I have been making personal developments, I’ve been learning to make videos. You may have seen on our YouTube channel and across the various other social media platforms: https://www.youtube.com/@JFWcabinet
With the help of a very talented coach I have been slowly putting together a catalogue of videos to help inform existing and potential customers of the large variety and scope of work we do! Please check it out as every view, like and subscription helps. (you should know the deal by now.)
I’ve also started to learn how to produce quality rendered images for our drawings. It’s still early days but hope to be sending out some funky looking drawings to help clients visualise the furniture they want us to build.
All in all and in conclusion 2024 was successful for us, who knows what 2025 holds, the world is changing and I feel we are going to need to work hard to maintain the level we have achieved, but where attention goes, the positivity flows and the results materialise. So best of luck with 2025, if there’s anything we can help you with, big or small, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
I’d like to close by saying a huge thank you to the whole team, what we did last year wouldn’t have happened without you so thanks to:
John, Paula, Danny, Owen, Dexter, Josh, Lee, Charlie and Jack.
Take it easy everyone!
Adam
