We have recently carried out a bespoke furniture project at Queen Charlotte Nursing Home in Weymouth, blending timeless design with practical functionality to elevate the comfort and elegance of communal living spaces.
At the heart of the home, we manufactured and installed a traditional-style TV fireplace bookcase. The design featured classic shaker-style cupboards, open shelving, and a beautifully framed fireplace surround. The unit incorporated subtle LED lighting to enhance the ambience and included a wall-mounted TV, seamlessly integrated into the joinery. We finished the piece with a traditional cornice, bringing a sense of refined, homely character.
In the Library either side of the marble fireplace, we produced a pair of tall, built-in library bookshelves. These were custom-made to fit perfectly within the original alcoves, extending up to the existing picture rail. To preserve the room’s period charm, we matched and followed the picture rail detail around the units with a bespoke moulding. The cabinetry was carefully constructed to sit over the very large existing skirtings and fixtures, ensuring minimal disruption and no need for invasive alterations to the room. Integrated LED lighting adds a warm, practical touch for reading or display purposes.
All elements were crafted in-house at our workshop in Nuneaton, Warwickshire using quality materials and traditional techniques. Thanks to detailed planning and precise workmanship, we were able to complete the full installation in just one day, leaving the space transformed and ready for use.
This project highlights our ability to deliver bespoke furniture solutions that respect heritage interiors while incorporating modern functionality.
