Investing in the Future: Our New Wall Saw

Things are busy at John F White Cabinetmakers Ltd, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

With a strong order book and plenty of exciting projects moving through the workshop, we’re continuing to look at ways we can improve our production processes, increase capacity and keep work moving efficiently.

Our latest investment is a new vertical wall saw, giving us additional cutting capacity alongside our existing panel saw.

One of the biggest advantages of the new machine is its ability to handle jumbo sheets. Previously, sheets larger than the 10′ x 4′ capacity of our existing saw had to be laid down and cut to a manageable size first, before being transferred to the saw for accurate sizing.

The new wall saw allows us to cut these jumbo sheets directly, removing an unnecessary stage from the process and reducing both handling and production time.

But the investment isn’t just about bigger sheets.

Having two saws available also means we can have two projects starting production at the same time. Cutting is often one of the first stages of manufacture, so previously there could be occasions where one job was waiting for another to finish on the saw before it could get underway.

With both machines running, our team can keep material flowing through the workshop, reduce waiting time and make better use of our production capacity.

For us, that’s the important bit.

We’re not investing in machinery simply for the sake of having something new. We’re looking at where the bottlenecks are within our production process and investing where it can make a genuine difference.

Continuing to Move JFW Ltd Forward

The new wall saw is another example of John F White Cabinetmakers Ltd continuing to invest in its future.

As our workload and the scale of the projects we undertake continue to grow, we want our workshop, machinery and processes to grow with them.

It’s a busy and positive time for JFW Ltd, and investments like this help us increase capacity, improve efficiency and continue delivering the high-quality bespoke furniture our customers expect.

More capacity. Better workflow. Less waiting around. And another step forward for JFW Ltd.
