At John F. White Ltd, we’re proud to have collaborated with HomeSmiths Ltd on the exquisite bespoke fitted furniture for Olney Meadows Care Home which is Kingsley Healthcare’s newest flagship in Olney, Buckinghamshire. Designed with resident wellbeing at its core, the home features 66 beautifully appointed bedrooms, along with a café, salon, private dining, cinema, library, garden lounge, and communal living and dining areas across three floors all enhanced by our carefully crafted joinery.
Working closely with HomeSmiths’ David and Jacqui through a meticulous 12‑month process from concept to installation we brought their Scandinavian-inspired vision to life. The project encompassed a wide range of bespoke furnishings, including:
- Reception desk & partition screen
- Café servery with a solid‑surface Meganite top in a white‑veined marble effect
- Reception bookcase
- Nurse bases on all three floors
- TV bookcases throughout the floors
- Library bookcases
- Salon furniture
- Magazine shelving units
Highlights of this scheme include the reception area’s striking Scandinavian aesthetic, blending lighter solid timbers like Maple with stunning Egger Fjord Green finishes, a pairing that harmonises natural warmth with contemporary elegance. The sleek Meganite servery surface adds a refined, hotel‑inspired touch.
We take great pride in bringing HomeSmiths’ award‑winning designs to life especially as Olney Meadows has been shortlisted as a finalist in the SBID 2025 International Design Awards, in the Healthcare & Wellness Design category. It’s an honour to see this project receiving recognition on the global design stage.
