Bespoke Reception Area for Safran Landing Systems, Gloucester

When EG Carter Ltd approached us to help transform the new entrance building at Safran Landing Systems in Gloucester, we were tasked with producing furniture for the reception area that was both welcoming and a statement of craftsmanship. The result? A harmonious blend of form, function, and detail, anchored by three standout features: a bespoke reception desk, a “Cloud” feature wall, and a curved slatted wall.

Reception Desk – A Striking Centrepiece

At the heart of the space stands a custom-built reception desk designed to make a lasting first impression.
Constructed using a combination of Egger White, woodgrain, and concrete-effect laminates from Lawcris, the desk blends contemporary styling with hard-wearing practicality. Integrated Hafele LOOX LED lighting adds a subtle halo effect, ensuring the desk feels bright, inviting, and modern, both for visitors and reception staff.

Cloud Feature Wall – Light and Texture in Harmony

Adjacent to the reception desk sits a feature wall inspired by cloud forms, bringing softness and movement into the design.
Crafted with Egger Walnut woodgrain panels and fitted with flexible LED tape lighting, the wall creates a warm, layered backdrop that subtly enhances the reception area’s ambience.

Curved Slatted Wall – Precision and Flow

To complement the desk and feature wall, we constructed a gently sweeping curved wall clad in 20 × 20 mm Tulipwood slats from Whitmores Timber.
Built using carefully shaped ply formers, the structure achieves a seamless curve that draws visitors into the space. Each hardwood slat was individually cut, finished, and installed to ensure perfect alignment—showcasing both the natural beauty of Tulipwood and the precision of our craftsmanship.
