We recently completed the manufacture and installation of a new bespoke reception desk for Dogs Trust at their Kenilworth centre.
The desk was designed around the reception area, with a large curved feature section forming the main focal point. The combination of Egger Dust Grey to the fronts and worktops with Egger Brilliant Yellow to the upper shroud creates a bold contrast that immediately ties the desk into the recognisable Dogs Trust colour scheme. A brushed aluminium finish to the plinth adds a clean and durable finishing detail.
Accessibility was also an important part of the design. The desk incorporates a DDA-compliant section, including an access gate and hinged counter flap. The flap uses a soft-close stay system, allowing the reception area to remain practical for staff while providing suitable access when required.
One of the key features of the reception counter is the sweeping curved front. The furniture was constructed using a combination of ply framework, bendy ply and MDF before being finished in the specified Egger laminates. This allowed us to produce the curved form while maintaining the clean lines and robust construction required for a busy reception environment.
As with all of our bespoke projects, the desk was manufactured in-house by the JFW Ltd team before being delivered and installed on site, allowing us to manage the project from working drawings through manufacture and final installation.
A great project to be involved with, and certainly one that brings a bit of colour to the workshop!
