Bespoke Reception Desk for Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre
John F White Cabinetmakers Ltd were delighted to manufacture and install this bespoke reception desk as part of the refurbishment of Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre, working alongside main contractor Speller Metcalfe. Positioned within the main entrance, the reception desk has been designed to create a welcoming first impression while providing a practical and durable workspace for staff.
Manufactured to a bespoke design, the desk features a multi-level counter arrangement, including a fully integrated DDA-compliant lowered section to ensure accessibility for all visitors. A robust plywood framework provides long-term strength, while the combination of premium finishes delivers a contemporary appearance suited to a busy public environment. The front elevations are enhanced with vertical timber slats and bookmatched oak-effect panels, complemented by crisp white solid surface worktops and brushed aluminium plinths, creating a clean, modern aesthetic.
Beyond its visual impact, the reception desk has been carefully designed with functionality in mind. Internal cable management, integrated access flaps, lockable storage and durable materials ensure the furniture is capable of withstanding the demands of a high-traffic leisure facility whilst maintaining its appearance for years to come. Throughout the project, close coordination with other trades ensured the desk integrated seamlessly with the surrounding architectural features, including the ceiling bulkheads, acoustic treatments and entrance turnstiles.
