One of the standout features of this project is the contemporary reception desk, designed by David Smith of HomeSmiths Ltd. This reception desk is more than just a functional piece; it is a statement of style. Clad in Meganite solid surface, the desk boasts a sleek and modern aesthetic that is both durable and visually appealing. The recessed panels and shroud box, crafted from high-quality Egger Laminates, add a hard metal contrast to the warm elegance of the marble effect of the solid surface.

To enhance the ambiance and functionality of the reception area, we incorporated LED lighting into the counter. This not only provides practical illumination but also highlights the stunning pattern of the Meganite, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors alike.

The reception desk is part of a larger project that includes a variety of custom-made furniture pieces, such as café servery, various bookcases, partition scree, salon furniture, and nurse bases. Each piece is meticulously crafted to HomeSmith’s designs to meet the specific needs and aesthetic preferences of Olney Meadows, ensuring a luxurious and comfortable environment throughout the care home.
