John F. White Ltd Cabinetmakers were please to be appointed to manufacture and install a package of bespoke fitted furniture, designed to deliver warm, residential-style furniture that enhances the comfort and usability of the space, while maintaining the durability required for a care environment. The project was carried out on behalf of HomeSmiths Ltd, who were responsible for the design, for the end user St Monica Trust at The Russets.

Scope of Works

• Bespoke TV fireplace cabinet with integrated bookcase units
• Pair of fully fitted linen cupboards

All items were manufactured in-house and installed to suit the exact dimensions and constraints of the space.

TV Fireplace Cabinet & Bookcase

The feature TV fireplace unit forms the focal point of the room, combining practical storage with a strong visual presence. The design incorporates a central fireplace opening with a TV positioned above, framed by symmetrical shelving and base cupboards.

Manufactured in Egger H3710 Natural Carini Walnut, the unit delivers a warm, homely feel, helping to move away from a clinical environment and towards a more residential aesthetic. The fireplace surround was finished in a contrasting laminate to subtly define the centrepiece, while the surrounding shelving and cupboards maintain a cohesive finish throughout.

Integrated warm white LED lighting to the back of the shelves enhances the display areas and adds ambient lighting to the room. Traditional detailing, including moulded cornice work, helps soften the overall appearance and ensures the furniture sits comfortably within the wider interior scheme. Durable hardware, including soft-close hinges and quality handles, ensures long-term performance in a high-use environment.

Linen Cupboards

The linen cupboards were designed as fully fitted units, maximising storage capacity while maintaining a clean and consistent appearance which suited the new style of the room.

Each cupboard was manufactured using Egger H3710 Natural Carini Walnut MFC with matching laminate shaker stlye doors, with internal shelving configured to provide practical and organised storage. The units sit on a formed plinth and are finished with traditional skirting details to integrate seamlessly with the room.

Attention was given to proportions, door layouts and handle selection to ensure the cupboards complement the feature furniture within the space. As with all our fitted items, the units were produced to suit the exact site dimensions, ensuring a precise fit and a high-quality finish throughout .

The Result

The completed installation provides a cohesive and welcoming environment, combining practical storage with carefully considered design. The feature fireplace unit creates a natural focal point within the room, while the fitted cupboards offer essential storage without compromising on aesthetics.
