We were delighted to work with E Manton Ltd on the A&E Resus Expansion project at George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton, manufacturing and installing a Bespoke Nurse Base Desk designed to combine practicality with a modern, welcoming finish.
The desk was carefully detailed to meet the functional needs of a busy hospital environment while delivering a clean, professional aesthetic. Manufactured in-house at our Nuneaton workshop, the design included a Durasein Milky Sands solid surface top, providing a durable and hygienic working surface, and striking Polyrey Cyclamen C189 panels to the front and sides. These bold surfaces were offset by Polyrey Metal Brossé Alu Brossé plinths and Egger inner panels, creating a strong yet balanced visual.
The desk also featured subtle curves and careful proportioning to soften its presence within the clinical setting while ensuring staff have sufficient space, access, and durability for day-to-day use.
During the build, our team also worked closely with the site team to help ascertain the correct position for power and data feeds to be brought up through the floor. This coordination ensured that services were aligned with the desk layout, preventing clashes later on and allowing for a smooth and efficient installation.
Installation was carried out seamlessly by our team, working alongside the main contractor and site trades to ensure the project was delivered on schedule and with minimal disruption to other works on site.
Projects like this demonstrate the importance of combining practicality, compliance, and craftsmanship in healthcare environments. The finished result not only meets the functional needs of the A&E team but also creates a professional first impression for patients and visitors.
