At John F White Ltd Cabinetmakers, we are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with George Eliot Hospital by delivering a fully bespoke nurse base desk for their Elizabeth Ward.
This project was a direct commission from the hospital, allowing us to work closely with the ward team to design a solution that combined practicality, durability, and modern aesthetics. From the outset, we produced detailed designs and working drawings for approval, ensuring every aspect of the desk met both the hospital’s functional requirements and the expectations of the end users.
The desk was carefully manufactured in our workshop using high-quality materials suited to the demanding healthcare environment. Key features included:
- Durable structure in Q-Mark Ply for strength and longevity.
- MDF fronts laminated in Formica HPL, combining resilience with a contemporary look.
- Egger W1101 Colour Core laminate tops for a seamless, hard-wearing finish.
- Integrated drawer unit with soft-close undermount runners and matching open shelf unit, designed to sit neatly within the desk, maximising space and functionality.
Once the space was ready, the desk was installed on site by our experienced fitting team. The result is a robust and attractive workstation that enhances workflow, provides ample storage, and fits seamlessly into the ward environment.
