John F. White Ltd Cabinetmakers is thrilled to share a recent project for EG Carter Ltd and Safran Landing systems where we produced a solid American Black Walnut bench seat with feature illumination.

We were commissioned to create a bespoke solid American Black Walnut bench seat with integrated feature illumination. This project, designed by Roberts Limbrick Ltd, required meticulous attention to detail and a seamless integration of aesthetics and functionality.

We began by conducting a thorough site survey to gain accurate site sizes and details. Using this info, we produced detailed working drawings to provide the client with a clear vision of the final product. During this phase, we also worked hard to source Class B surface spread of flame coatings to ensure compliance with Fire safety standards and requirements.

In our workshop, we used advanced machinery to machine the component sections of the bench. The individual members were then carefully glued together to achieve the desired sizes and shapes. We incorporated grooves for the LED track and then applied the various coats of fire protection coatings to enhance safety and durability. This particular product offers Class B surface spread of flame protection and boasts a hardwearing matt lacquer finish which protects the natural timber from wear and tear.

The installation process was carried out with precision and minimal disruption to the client. Our team worked efficiently on-site, and collaborated with electricians on site to connect the LED system to the mains.

Please note, if a standard 3-pin plug is available nearby, our installations do not require an electrician as the system we provide can simply plug in and be controlled by switches within the system.

The result is a striking feature that elegantly sits beneath the main staircase and surrounds a decorative planter. This project not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the space but also provides functional seating with a touch of modern sophistication.
