JFW Cabinetmakers Ltd is proud to showcase one of our latest projects for Speller Metcalfe: a custom-made reception desk for the Midlands Centre for Cyber Security in Hereford. This project was a collaboration between The University of Wolverhampton and Herefordshire Council, who jointly developed the state-of-the-art cyber security facility.
The reception desk is a striking feature of the entrance hall, reflecting the innovative and sustainable design of the building. The tops are made of Corian, a durable and versatile material that can be shaped and coloured to suit any style. The fronts are made of cross-laminated timber (CLT), which was surplus from the construction of the building. CLT is a strong and lightweight material that reduces carbon emissions and waste.
We cut the logo of the cyber quarter into the front of the counter using a CNC machine, creating a unique and eye-catching effect. The logo represents the four pillars of the cyber quarter: education, research, business support and innovation.
We are delighted to have been part of this project, which showcases our expertise in bespoke cabinetmaking and our commitment to environmental sustainability. We thank our partners for their trust and collaboration, and we look forward to working with them again in the future.
