First blog of 2024, first chance I’ve had to put finger to keyboard with all the work that pays the mortgages and bills we’ve had to do!
I’m not complaining though, far from it. It has been lovely work, some great pieces of fitted furniture for HomeSmiths Ltd and Kingsley Healthcare.
We spent the other week in Holt, Norfolk fitting all the furniture into Kingsley Healthcare’s brand new flagship nursing home, Kings Lodge. A 66 bedroom home complete with libraries, lounges, salons, cinema room and much more.
You may have seen the post on our Instagram page, (if you haven’t check it out @jfwcabinet) CAN YOU LINK THAT?? But basically, 5 men 4 days and a tonne of furniture….. 26 items to be exact. The guys worked their nuts off, I’m both extremely grateful and proud of the effort Danny, Owen, Lihe and Josh put in on site, I think I did ok too…. I don’t think I hindered them too much, someone had to cook the pizzas……
I’ll be steadily releasing the individual items on our Previous Work page over the next few weeks, so I shan’t go into much detail about the furniture here, but I will say that the team at HomeSmiths Ltd have done a cracking job to design the furniture for this home.
Working to the designs and idea’s produced by HomeSmiths Ltd We achieved some remarkable and effective results by using new materials and systems. For example, we used backlighting on the shelves to create a halo effect, flexible LED strip to evenly illuminate the curved front on the servery (see picture below). We also created a stunning feature in the main reception desk with laser cut aluminium panels that we illuminated (I will share this later).
This has been the fifth large scale fit out of a home for Kingsley Healthcare, a fantastic project for us to work on, we currently have one more in the pipeline, I am just waiting for walls to be skimmed so I can take site measurements, I am also currently pricing another one which will be of a similar scheme as Kings Lodge in Holt.
We thoroughly enjoy working on these projects and hope to continue to do so, we are very grateful for the continued opportunity.
Have a great weekend all!
Adam
